I may be old enough to drink, but I still feel like a kid most of the time. That's probably due largely to my great love of escaping into fictional worlds, getting into the heads of people who aren't me and indeed have never existed. A well-written character is my favorite thing, and characters hold my attention much better than the events involving them - and as you can probably guess since I'm on this site, when it comes to their intimate moments I'm something of a voyeur. I'm not ashamed to be extremely picky about what I view; if I think the characters in any work (particularly fanwork) are acting unbelievably, it's like fingernails across a chalkboard. It's extremely rare that I need no more reason than "it's hot," and rivalry != chemistry. Similarly, friendship != chemistry. I'm all right with yaoi as a concept, it's just that so much of it twists the characters involved into something I don't think they should be, so I tend to be wary of it. The same applies to yuri, but as a straight woman, I prefer the cuteness of shoujo-ai, as girl-on-girl isn't quite a turn-on for me. Heterosexual pairings seem to suffer from these problems much less often, I've noticed. Incest and loli/shota squick me out. Bestiality is out of the question, but just because a character has fur doesn't make him (or her) an animal. Anyway, some of my greatest loves are Star Wars, Star Ocean, Chrono Trigger, Morrowind (not so much Oblivion though), and anything written by Tamora Pierce or Diana Wynne Jones. I play Dungeons&Dragons (or tabletop Star Wars, or even tabletop DBZ, which was more fun than I expected) whenever I get a chance, and I have more characters than I can remember. Luckily I can't find any, though I keep looking for them) There are others - Doc and Clara, Artoo and Threepio, Brock and Misty, etc - but for them I'm more in it for the 'cute' value and certainly wouldn't come here to read about them. Well, what is there? I'm a foodie, I'm a gamer, I'm a cosplayer, I'm a cartoonist... or a wannabe cartoonist, anyway. If I were a Pokemon, I'd be a Chansey, though my favorite is Snorlax. As a D&D character, I'd be a low-level bard (I collect random trivia, I am proficient with the rapier, and I can sing like nobody's business). My alignment is neutral good.
