I thought perhaps that I should be a little more substantive in my profile, so here goes: I'm a relatively new writer, although I've been a lurker for a while. As my name asserts, I enjoy reading, almost obsessively. What I don't enjoy, however, are fics that are lacking in grammar, punctuation or have egregious spelling errors (Intentional LOLspeak is the sole exception), those I may visit and exit quickly, never to return. If you don't put the effort into writing it, why should I put the effort into reading slop? I don't understand flamers, since if you don't like something say so politely and go read something else--there's enough out there for everyone's tastes. What I utterly love, however, is a story that is true to its own frame, one that has plot, cadence and depth, and someday hope to achieve that in my own writing. Until then, I will keep practicing and enjoying the efforts of those authors who already put those elements into their work, and there are many of them here. Oh and by the way, I am NOT the same 'Voracious Reader' as on FF.net; I only found out about them today (nov. 29 2010). Over there I am under the sobriquet of 'often reading' but haven't posted there as of yet. Potter forever, and let's hope JKR never finds out what we're up to! LOL!!
