I'm serious, dagnabbit! I like M/F under the right conditions. A strong heroine who either doesn't cop any shit or just doesn't care for idiots and does her own thing. I only like to read about withering wall flowers if they end up being pushed to the edge and come out swinging, carve up everyone who has ever taken advantage of them and brings them to their knees...wow...I never realised I was vindictive. I also like villains. Real arsehole-types. The remorseless kind who can kick a cute little fluffy dog and laugh about it, or who are so vindictive they can dance on their enemy's grave. I probably like the baddies to be so bad that I don't care when they get what's coming to them, and find that one of the best parts of a story is actually seeing them 'get it'. Bad. I like hero's who have a mix of brain and brawn but I also like to see them stuff up, fall on their arses and have to beg for repentence or preferably, work really, really hard for it. I like quirky stories, ones that are a little bit off the beaten track, but not so far out that you can't relate to them. My taste in music is a bit like that too. I like some mainstream but I usually steer toward alternative. Techno is my one weakness though *sigh*. But no. I don't like yaoi much, although some of the pictures are cute and can um...make me blush... Basically, I immediately skip any story with the tags: Minor, Shouta, or Yaoi, although I will read yaoi if it has a summary that catches my eye or someone recommends it to me. I mean seriously, I know it's fiction but I just can't suspend belief enough to ever be able to believe that raping someone until they fall in love with you is possible. Anyway, you can generally tell pretty quickly if a story's going to degenerate into a butt bleeding mess. There are no exceptions to the other two tags though. I won't touch them.
