First off, thanks for reviewing! As far as Ash being sorted, Slughorn was the head of Slytherin, so naturally that position is open. Well, in order to be the head of house, you'd figure they'd have to have some sort of association with that house. So in order to verify which house Ash would have such an association with, she was sorted. As far as the new head of Slytherin house: it will be announced in the next chapter, so stay tuned!
