About Variance - I was bored one day and read a LM/HG for kicks - Hermione's Choice - and was intrigued. It wasn't the best written work, but I had never even considered that pairing, so I looked around ffn and found the jackpot - Hungry, Crazy, Thirsty by FlowersBecomeScreens - fantastically written, original plot, everything. I became more intrigued and followed the story. I find it impossible to write if I do not have an original idea, but this is a much less explored ship. I love SS/HG, but would have to come up with something truly original to write it, and there have been so many excellent writers already; I doubt I could match up. Anyway, I've been thinking about this story for a while. I have something original, though it takes some work to get into Lucius' head, and it is fairly difficult to write. I have three written, but am at a crossroads with the fourth and will have to decide either way before I continue. I definitely did not abandon Variance, but circumstances beyond my control (largely the leaving of all my notes in another state) meant that I was unable to work on it for a while. I hope to update about every week or so, and I know exactly where it is going for now, though bits and pieces keep cropping up unexpectedly and insist on being included. Let me know what you think! I appreciate all of my reviewers more than I can say and would be more than happy to talk about the story if you want.
