I am a 22 years old Art History student. I write as a hobby, in between classes, essays and exams so you probably won't see a new chapter every week, except if I happen to be on vacation, very bored or very inspired. If it sometimes takes long for me to post a new chapter, it's because I never post until the chapter is absolutely ready. I never launch anything until I'm satisfied with it - meaning that I've read it out loud at least five times to make sure that it sounds good. Yes, I'm that much of a perfectionist. I also beta my own stories because the thought of someone else meddling in my stuff horrifies me. And I'm a grammar nazi, so if you see any mistakes or typos in anything, please let me know.
I work under the principle of "write what you want to read" so reviews are not necessary for my survival (but always appreciated). I read them all very carefully and most of the time I respond if they are signed. When I have trouble writing or finding motivation I do go back and read the comments and encouragements and it helps me keep going but I would keep going no matter what. Because writing is supposed to be fun and personal. Nothing troubles me more than a writer who begs their readers for reviews, threatening not to continue writing if a certain amount of reviews haven't been given. That's a horrible thing. You should write for yourself, always. Some people can think a piece of writing is good without having to review it. I understand, I don't review everything I like either. I just think that nothing is worse than having a story stuck inside your head and nagging you all the time. At some point, you just have to let it out. This is what happens with most of my stories. I just couldn't deal with it anymore, they just have to come out!
English is only my second language but I consider myself adequate and capable enough to use it for writing. I also translate my stories in French, if only to make them accessible to more people.
