There have been many great and legendary thieves recorded in the annals of time. Ali Baba is famous for his escapades involving the Forty Thieves, while Vincenzo Peruggia demonstrated just how brazen he was when he simply walked away with the famed Mona Lisa. Some thieves are celebrated as heroes, such as the fictional Lupin III, while others are blacklisted by history as some of the most hated villains of all time, such as that smug bastard Bernie Madoff.
Do you know what makes them great? They put effort into their work. They study the target until they have every last detail memorized, from the password to the museum’s security system on down to the shoe size of Bob the night watchman. They practice their skills until they can move as quietly as a mouse, are as nimble as a cat, and can outwit a dozen chess grandmasters at the same time, all while chewing gum at the same time! Then there are their targets! Jewels the size of your fist, precious works of art, national treasures nothing is safe once they put their minds to taking it for themselves!
You, however, are none of these things. You are not particularly skilled; you copied something you found on the internet. You are not particularly clever; you didn’t even bother reposting it on another site, but right smack dab in the same place as the original. You weren’t even particularly original; people try to rip off the stories here All. The. Time. So not only are you a failure of a thief, but you are a failure of a copy cat thief. I can only hazard a guess about what else you might fail at in life, but truly no matter what the answer might be it would completely and utterly fail to astound me. The only thing you could possibly be good for is the one thing all dragons enjoy about thieves – the fact that you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
