~~I never know what to write in these things~~... I suppose I'll start by saying that I'm a 23-year-old female; married, and in the military. Although my account here is fairly new, I've been reading and critiquing fanfics on this site for nearly 10 years now... What can I say? I had a very healthy curiosity toward sex from a young age and enjoyed the written word since before I could speak properly. 2 + 2 = smutty fanfic, apparently.

Anyhoo... While I'm certainly no prude when it comes to READING more adult fare, I haven't quite gotten the courage yet to WRITE any. Someday, when inspiration strikes, I might post something here. Until then, I'm content to just read and enjoy the works of others. ^_^

When it comes to the fanfic that I like best, I think most highly of well-written, thoughtful smut involving characters that I know, even if I don't particularly enjoy the anime or series they belong to. The rec. reading section below should be full of works that I genuinely RESPECT that were also a pleasure to read.

comment "While I enjoyed the first entry in Capitalist's CCS "Labyrinth" fics quite a bit, I always felt a little more compelled by Syaoran and Sakura's love story than Touya's with Yue. Plus, this story deviates a bit more from the lore of the film and does its own thing, which I appreciate. It's not the grand, sweeping, theme-heavy epic that Pleasure Slave was (and I'm not sure its even trying to be, tbh), but definitely a solid, enjoyable read nonetheless."

comment " Set in the universe of OHSHC, I've put this one down more because of it's sheer potential than it's actual content. I'm making an educated guess though, since I've read the author's other works and know she's fantastic. So far, the smut is well-written and exciting, the pairings are both M/M and F/M with some possibility of F/M/M in the future. Where the story really shines though, is in the characterizations of all the characters and it's interesting premise. Tamaki, especially is portrayed very believably, despite the situation. In fact, any of the author's Tamaki/Haruhi fics are worth checking out. Very, very promising."

comment " This fic really amplified everything that was so appealing about the OHSHC series. The many different characters, character types, and their feelings toward the female protagonist. It really gives the inner fangirl in me something to squee about in every situation with every boy. The only flaw, IMHO, is that it never quite takes that stellar concept all the way. The later chapters diverge somewhat, focusing more on the romance between Kyoya and Haruhi, but the build-up is spectacular. Het."

comment " If you find the prospect of being taken against your will exciting, then this fic will have you on the edge of your seat. Disclaimer: I do NOT condone rape in any form, nor do I feel that women who get raped were "asking for it." However, this fic nicely straddles that thin line between outright consent and rough, hateful sex. It's AU, so it can be enjoyed even if you aren't familiar with Hana Yori Dango. It's also het and largely PWP, though it does have some setup and actually some pretty sweet payoff."

comment " How could I NOT recommend this story? It a grand, sweeping fantasy epic that has something for literally everyone, regardless of what your tastes are. Action? Check. Gothic castle setting? Check. Yuri? Check. Yaoi? Double check. Het? Triple check. A heart-warming romance and plenty of soul-shattering angst? Try two different pairings full of both. Of all the fanfic I've ever read, this is the one that truly defined what high quality fanfiction is to me. I have so much respect for this author, for not only crafting TWO romances that thoroughly captivated me, but for also challenging my perceptions of love and freedom. If you have even a passing interest in Card Captor Sakura - Hell, even if you don't! - this one is definitely worth checking out."

comment "Everything about this story just works. From the slow-paced, yet compelling romance, to the competent heroine, to the truly effective horror elements, it's hard not to binge read this story and its sequel/continuation. It also features - hands down - one of the best representations of Jack Sparrow in PotC fic. I just wish the author used the term 'slurred' to describe his speech more sparingly, accurate though it probably is."

comment " The fic was a godsend when I was young and going through my Johnny Depp phase. That, and I'm a shameless fan of the snark. There's plenty of snappy dialogue here and a thoroughly engrossing romance that is equal parts heart-warming and sexy. If your not familiar with it, Once Upon a Time in Mexico is one of Robert Rodriguez's (IMO) finest films and features not only Depp, but Antonio Banderos, Enrique Iglesias, and Dennis Leary. Het."

comment " This is one of those fics I always find myself coming back to, and is easily the best YuGiOh fanfiction I've ever read. It is also one of the few that features a het romance between Anzu (Tea) and both Yugi and Yami. I guess that technically makes it a threesome, but the interaction between them all is really well handled. The romance here alternates between being extremely fluffy, and extremely sexy. The build-up is wonderful, and the pay-off is also pretty good. There is a sequel, but as far as I know, it hasn't been re-worked to follow this one, so the timeline is a little wonky. I'd recommend checking it out, though."
