"
Literature is the only form of erotica that allows us to experience what shall henceforth be referred to as 'erotic recursion'.

Masturbating by ones self solely with the thought of achieving self pleasure is one layer deep. With the assistance of a pornographic film we arrive at a second layer, we have a soul pleasuring themselves to the image of another person experiencing pleasure. Perhaps that person is imagining yet another experiencing pleasure, this deeper third layer is typically accessible to us only through the intangible force of our suppositions. Can we ever honestly say what lies beyond the opaque walls erected between ourselves and another human consciousness? Yes, for with the power of fiction those walls need not be opaque. Within speculative fiction lies the force to make translucent the opaque, to let you peer into the stream of consciousness trickling through another human soul.

When you read Pink Dress, you are not simply pleasuring yourself to the thought of another, you are pleasuring yourself to the thoughts of another. Another who is pleasuring herself to the thought of another being pleasured. We have arrived at the third layer. We have arrived at erotic recursion.

There are yet deeper layers, perhaps veritable worlds, we can achieve through erotic recursion, what you will find in Pink Dress is but the tip of the proverbial iceberg. I would advise every author to experiment with erotic recursion, to experiment with what sets erotic literature apart from all other forms of erotica.

Mainly though, I just thought it was a cute and hot little scene. I did not realize I would have to write out a reason for recommending the story and I kind of panicked. If you read this story while trying to analyze it with the lens through which I wrote this recommendation you probably won't find it particularly titillating. I don't know about you but if I were reading an erotic fanfiction I would have a hard time maintaining my arousal while simultaneously pontificating on the nature of literature.
"
